14 teams from 9 schools competed at Deal Indoor Tennis Centre on 25th April 2017 for Dover School Games doubles tournament. Deal Parochial’s two teams did extremely well, coming through their respective round robin groups of seven teams in 1st and 3rd positions. This led to our first team playing in the final against a very strong St Faith’s team. In the two very close games that followed, Che and Jack, and then Liam and Ruby, played some amazing shots and rallies, but sadly lost the tie by just 3 points.
I was so proud of Che, Jack, Liam, Ruby, Mackenzie, Harry, Charlie and Mia, all of whom are dedicated members of our after school tennis club. They played with great enthusiasm, and what they all achieved was fantastic considering the majority of them have been playing tennis for less than six months. Well done to them all!
Also, many thanks to the parents and grandparents who came and supported us.
