On Saturday 5th May, 22 children, 2 staff, and 12 parents, made the train journey to Wembley Stadium to watch the 2018 Women’s FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea.
With the kick-off at 5.30pm, there was plenty of time for photos outside the iconic stadium in the glorious sunshine, before heading in. Once inside, we found we had excellent seats behind the goal where Chelsea would score three times.
After a goalless first half (and many Mexican waves), Chelsea came out very positively in the second half and quickly scored two goals. Although Arsenal pulled one goal back, Chelsea continued being the more dominant side and sealed their deserved victory with a third goal.
After seeing Chelsea lift the trophy, we started our journey home. We eventually returned to Deal at 11pm. Although tired, everyone was very happy after a fantastic trip.
