Girls’ Football: Kingsdown 0 Deal Parochial 2

On a bright, but very chilly Wednesday afternoon, our Girls’ Football team made the short journey over to Kingsdown Primary School for our league fixture.
All our girls played with great determination and excellent teamwork throughout. Our girls’ willingness to run with the ball proved decisive. – In the first half, Ruby ran down the left wing with the ball, before picking out Alisha in the penalty box with her cross; Alisha calmly slotted the ball pass the Kingsdown keeper for our first goal. Then in the second half, Alisha collected the ball in her own half and ran half the length of the pitch (with Jasmine keeping up, to provide attacking options) before scoring her second.
I was very proud of the whole team; our midfielders worked hard to support a solid display from Grace and Abigail in defence, and in goal, Rosie-Mae made a fantastic save in the final moments of the match to keep her clean sheet and ensure the 0-2 final scoreline.
Many thanks to Ava’s Mum and Grace’s Dad who helped with transport.
