Mrs Hodgson and Mr Alltoft represented Deal Parochial at the LTA’s National Tennis Awards Final at Wimbledon on Tuesday 2nd July and had a fantastic day. They were thrilled to be there and to have the opportunity to meet so many inspiring other finalists, as well as watch some excellent tennis featuring both Roger Federer and Serena Williams, on Centre Court.
The Awards Ceremony was hosted by Davis Cup Captain, Leon Smith, and even though Deal Parochial did not win the Education Award, we received a certificate in recognition of our amazing achievement of being an National Finalist.
Later at the afternoon tea, Mrs Hodgson and Mr Alltoft were introduced to Judy Murray and they outlined to her, our many tennis endeavours at Deal Parochial; she was particularly delighted to hear about our efforts to increase girls’ participation in tennis with our before school tennis sessions for girls.
Thank you so much to the LTA for the whole Tennis Awards process. We feel very honoured and proud that our school’s dedication and commitment to providing inclusive tennis activities have been recognised, with our school being the only primary school to reach the national finals.
