STEM Cardboard Boat Challenge – Year 6 Results

6 participants in our Lockdown STEM Cardboard Boat Challenge brought their cardboard creations into school on Monday 20th July for judging. The rules of the challenge stipulated that only cardboard, tape and glue could be used to make the boats. They were floated in a container of water, before being laden with 500g bags of sugar until they sunk.

All the boats had been made relatively wide to allow more space to load their sugar cargo, as well as being comprehensively waterproofed with lots of tape!

The winning boat belonged to Mia; it comfortably carried 2kg of sugar.

Congratulations to Mia, and well done to Abi, Jamie and Rhys, for their well thought out entries.
