Music Evening at St George’s Church

Deal Parochial School celebrated another year of exciting music-making at the annual Music Evening at St George’s Church on Wednesday 24th May. The aim of the evening was to give pupils who are learning instruments an opportunity to perform together in groups and enjoy making music together.

The Year 3 children started the evening by playing their descant recorders to an appreciative audience of family, friends and teachers. This was followed by a guitar ensemble and two-part playing from the Recorder Club which now boasts a ‘flute’ ably played by Kate Hodgson. Various soloists performed and each KS2 Class performed a song. The School Choir ‘ went to the shops….’  ,Oliver Friend astonished the audience by performing with great confidence on the church organ and the Staff Choir surprised everyone with their enthusiastic performance of ‘Seasons of Love’ – if you missed it, you missed a treat! Mr Harrington’s drummers  entertained  with their rhythmic  skills and creativity and finally Mr Graham Harvey represented the Deal Festival and presented Musical Achievement Certificates to the Year 6’s who have been dedicated to their musical learning over their time at the school.

A full jam-packed evening of enthusiastic music-making as always!

A big thank you and well done to everyone who took part.
