Taking some ‘Christmas Cheer’ out to our local community
On Wednesday 6th December the Yr 4/5/6 Choir went to St.George’s Church to perform Christmas songs and Carols. 19 pupils took part and performed a 30minute programme from memory. A very big ‘well done’ to all those who took part. You did yourselves proud!
Jean Kerr, the service leader’s comments: Wednesday 6th December saw St Georges Church, Deal hosting a special morning of carols for the community. Over 100 people attended and joined in singing the familiar carols of Christmas and hearing again the Christmas story. We were then delighted to be visited by the Choir from Deal Parochial School. The smiling faces of the children as they started to sing a medley of old and new Christmas songs brought much appreciation from those gathered and quite a few tears! It was wonderful to have the children and Mrs Spencer with us and how the children remembered so many songs, in such a variety of styles astounded us. We even managed to sing a new song with them in a round. With grateful thanks. From the Wednesday morning congregation at St Georges.
