On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th January Deal Parochial children took part in a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) workshops.
Year R really enjoyed the STEM workshop; they learnt how to join materials together using sticks and bands using different techniques. The children were amazed when these were combined to build a much larger structure, and worked together to problem solve. The highlight was setting up camp inside their completed pyramid.
Year 1 had fantastic day making triangles to create a HUGE triangular prism!
Year 2 spent the time making triangles into a octahedron!
Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 made triangular prisms and then used them to construct a huge bridge. The children dropped the bridges on the floor to test them for strength and durability.
The children were buzzing with excitement and showed great creativity and collaboration!
