Sir Roger Manwood’s Primary Maths Competition

On Tuesday 6th February, four Yr6 children took part in this annual competition. Approximately 20 teams from a selection of local primary schools took part.

It comprised of a variety of maths challenges that needed to be completed within set time frames.

Our team of Babak, Nicholas, Agnes and Kaitlin worked through the tasks using both teamwork and individual strengths.

It was very tense for everyone involved but the team held it together very well, focussing on the problems with which they were presented until the final bell was rung.

A nail-biting wait followed – whilst the scores were calculated – before the final results were announced.

Third place was called – Deal Parochial School. The team were invited to come up and receive individual certificates as well as one to be put up at school.
