Boys Hammond Cup Football Semi Final Win against River

On Thursday 8th March on a wet and cold afternoon Deal Parochial took on River Primary in the Semi Finals of the Hammond Cup with a place in the Final up for grabs.

The team showed great sportsmanship throughout the game with Amazing team work, but had to work extremely hard against a very strong and organised opposition.

Deal Parochial had most of the possession in both halves and created many opportunities to score, but couldn’t find a way past the River keeper. Extra time came after the teams drew 0-0, and at full time still nobody could score and so the match went to penalties. Harry, George, Ashton, Che and Liam stepped up to take the penalties. We lost James through injury after a fantastic save, so Ashton took the Gloves making 2 superb saves.

Penalties were scored by Liam, George, Harry and Ashton to secure a 4-2 win to progress to the final at Warden House on Friday 15th March. Man of the match goes to the whole team for their great attitude.
