Deal Parochial wins Dover Schools’ Games’ Tennis Tournament

Liam, Evan, Mia, and Oliver, together with Che, Ruby, Jack and Bobby, put in some fantastic tennis displays at this year’s Dover Schools’ Games’ Tennis Tournament. The competition took place at the Deal Indoor Tennis Centre and involved 10 teams representing 8 different schools.
This was the first ‘multi-school’ tennis tournament that Evan and Oliver had represented our school at, and together with their respective partners, Liam and Mia, they put in some excellent performances. Their team won 11 of their 12 games, but narrowly missed out on a semi-final place on points difference.
Che, Ruby, Jack and Bobby, played strongly throughout their round robin stages and went through to the semi-finals where they beat River.  They then met St Faiths in a very close final, which was full of hard hitting, lengthy rallies. Eventually Che, Ruby, Jack and Bobby won with a combined score of 17 against St Faith’s 15.
Well done everyone; what an excellent effort. Mr Earl, Mrs Cotterill and myself were very proud of you all.
Mrs Hodgson.
