Royal Marines Heritage Trail Launch Event
Yesterday, Deal Parochial CEP School had the pleasure of watching the Royal Marines ‘Exercising the Freedom of the Borough of Deal’ and the launch of the ‘Royal Marines Heritage Trail’. The event brought together our Deal Town community; parents and pupils thought it was fantastic!
Pupils from all schools in Deal participated in the Deal Town Time Detectives project; researching our local history links to the Royal Marines. Yesterday, pupils greeted the dignitaries as they arrived at the event and proudly showed them their work; enthusiastically sharing their learning.
Year 5, who also carried out their own research project linked to the Royal Marines, had a front row seat to watch the Royal Marines march off with ‘Colours Flying, Drums Beating and Bayonets Fixed!’
It was an amazing occasion which I am sure everyone will remember for many years to come.
It was an honour to be a part of this project and we are very proud of all the children, staff and parents who supported us in making it such a success.
