Bubbly Fun at After School Science Club.

Science club was all about bubbles this week.
The activities started with making a big bowl of bubble solution. This involved including an unexpected ingredient: sugar. The children learnt that adding the sugar to the water and washing-up liquid would help strengthen and stabilize the resulting bubbles from the solution.
Next the children set about trying to make cube bubbles. As bubbles will always try to be spherical, it was necessary to make cube frames (from pipe-cleaners and straws) to help form the cube bubbles. The frames were then dipped in the bubble solution prior to the children blowing a cube bubble in their centres.
Afterwards, the children enjoyed experimenting with spherical bubbles. They found blowing bubbles within bubbles, really cool!
