Deal Parochial’s Success in County Qualifying Tennis Tournament.
On Thursday 14th June, 16 doubles pairs from Deal Parochial took part in the qualifying heats at Canterbury for this year’s Kent LTA’s Primary Schools’ Doubles Tournament.
Separate tournaments took place for boys and girls across three age ranges, and we were represented in 5 of the categories.
In each of the events, the pairs were placed into round robin groups, and to qualify for the County Finals at Bromley on 22nd June, the children had to win their group.
Congratulations to Jack and Che (both Y4) who played excellently in the windy conditions to win all their matches and successfully secure their qualification.
There were many other fantastic performances from our children; in particular, Bobby (Y3) and Makenzie (Y5) who missed out on qualification by the narrowest of margins, and the many other children who won some of their matches, and finished their tournaments very happy, having had a positive tennis experience.
Many thanks to all the parents who helped with the transport to and from Canterbury; the children could not have taken part without your invaluable support.
