‘The NED Show’ at Deal Parochial

On Tuesday 19^th June 2018, we hosted ‘The NED Show’ – NED is a loveable cartoon character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best.

All year groups were captivated by the performer, Andrew – who comes all the way from Los Angeles, USA, along with his colleagues, to the UK annually to lead these shows – he conveyed his ‘Growth Mindset’ message through Yo-Yo skills and humorous stories to promote the belief that ALL children can succeed if they persevere and keep trying. He also emphasised that it’s good to make mistakes along the way; as it helps them to become more resilient.

Although the NED show was free, we were asked to ‘Pay it Forward’ so that the next school can receive a free performance, as we did from the previous school.

Yo-Yos will be on sale outside the Year 5 classroom until Tuesday 26^th June.
