Dover Schools’ Games’ Football Tournament.

Year 5 and 6 took part in the Dover Schools’ Games’ football tournament on Monday afternoon which was hosted by Goodwin Academy School. Our team produced some fantastic football; 3-0 wins over Worth School and Temple Ewell followed a 4-0 win over Charlton School, and sent Deal Parochial through to the Quarter Finals against The Downs.  This match was just as thrilling but nobody could break down each other’s defence, resulting in a 0-0 draw and going to penalties. Che and Makenzie scored their penalties to put the team through 2-1 and into the semi-finals against Hornbeam School. Despite every effort to break down a tough defence, Hornbeam secured victory with a narrow 1-0 win. All the players were fantastic though, and showed great respect and sportsmanship to each other and their opponents.
