Girls’ Football: Wingham ‘A’ 1 Deal Parochial 0

On Wednesday 5th December, our girls’ football team travelled over to Wingham to play their ‘A’ team in a league fixture.

Given all the recent rain, the pitch was very muddy and heavy to play on.  However, our girls played with great enthusiasm and determination; they were all solid in their defensive duties and they worked hard as a team to launch counter-attacks. In the second half, we made a wonderful chance when Ava threaded a delightful ball through to Ellie in attack; Ellie then cleverly managed to evade the Wingham defenders, but just couldn’t get the ball in the net.

Unfortunately for us, Wingham eventually broke through our defence and scored in the last minute of the match to give them the victory, however, our girls must be very proud of their display. They played with great spirit, commitment and sportsmanship throughout. Well done girls!
