On 23rd and 24th January, a series of STEM workshops took place at Deal Parochial.
On the Wednesday, years R, 1 and 2 had sessions where they built tetrahedrons out of dowels and elastic bands, and then learnt how larger shapes could be assembled by combining the individual tetrahedrons.
On the Thursday, years 3, 4 and 5, enjoyed being challenged to build shelters for either the artic, a desert region, or a tropical rainforest. They were given many varying lengths of dowels, as well as elastic bands, to achieve their goal. The resulting shelter designs were all very impressive, being both imaginative and robust.
