Great Day Out at Kent County Cricket’s Inaugural Rapid Fire Cricket Event in Canterbury.
On Tuesday 5th March, Mrs Hodgson, Mr Earl, Mr Murphy, and several Mums, took our KS1 cricket team to the first ever Rapid Fire event hosted by Kent County Cricket Club (KCCC) at Canterbury.
Our mixed team made up of seven pupils from Year 2 and three pupils from Year 1, had a fun-packed day playing six matches against other schools (mostly from the Canterbury area). Prior to the event, Mrs Hodgson had introduced both Years 1 and 2 to this wonderful version of cricket in their PE lessons and it was lovely to see the children relish the opportunity to play cricket more.
All our children played excellently, displaying both good teamwork and sportsmanship. They won 5 of their 6 matches and finished the day as runners-up. We were also delighted that Amira (Y2) received a Magic Moment Medal from KCCC for her fantastic teamwork.
