On Saturday 18th January, a small group of our keen footballers travelled by train to Brighton to watch the Seagulls in their Premier League match against Aston Villa.
Upon reaching the AMEX stadium, we were lucky to see the arrival of the Aston Villa coach and watched as players including England International, Tyrone Mings, and team captain, Jack Grealish, disembarked their bus. We then visited the club shop before finding our seats in the stadium to watch the teams warm-up before the match.
The match itself started very well from Brighton’s perspective, with them being the dominant team in the first half and deservedly taking the lead. However, the second half was more even and Aston Villa scored a well taken equaliser to ensure the match finished 1-1.
Although the match ended as a draw, all the children (and the adults) enjoyed their day out, experiencing Premier League football at the AMEX Stadium.
