Deal Parochial Receive the President’s Award from Kent Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

We are very proud to announce that our school has been recognised by the Kent LTA Tennis Awards for 2022.

At the Kent’s Annual LTA Tennis Awards Dinner on 11th February 2023, Mrs Hodgson received the President Award on behalf of Deal Parochial, for our consistent, outstanding delivery of tennis throughout our school and beyond. We are thrilled and honoured that our inclusive tennis programme and outreach initiatives continue to be recognised by the LTA.

In presenting the Award, LTA President, Sandi Procter, spoke passionately about how our whole school community embraces tennis, both as a sport and cross-curricularly. She highlighted our amazing achievement in having won the County LTA Tennis Award for ‘School of the Year’ on 4 occasions, being National Runners-Up for 2 of those years, and then being National Winners last year.

This President’s Award is for our whole school community. Our inclusive, year-round tennis programme has continually thrived over many years, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of our children (both present and former pupils), parents, and staff. Thank you to you all.

In addition to receiving our school’s President’s Award, Mrs Hodgson also collected the Rising Star Award on behalf of her son, Daniel.

Daniel, a former pupil of Deal Parochial, is an Accredited Level 2 Tennis Coach. We are delighted that Daniel has won this ‘Young Person of the Year’ Award; it recognises all the volunteering that he undertook to help our school tennis programme during his University Holidays in 2022, as well as his tennis coaching with Deal Indoor Tennis Centre and Walmer Lawn Tennis Club.

Well done, Daniel.
