BBC South East Today Filming at Deal Parochial.

On Wednesday 20th October, 20 of our tennis players were full of excitement and anticipation as they took part in filming for BBC South East Today. Originally planned to take place on our playground’s mini-courts, high winds and rain necessitated the filming location move to the hall.

 

Vanessa Webb from Kent LTA had arranged for Juliette Parkin from the Regional News Programme to come to our school to report on our fantastic tennis endeavours, which had led to us being Runners-Up in the Education category in the National LTA Tennis Awards for 2021.  Juliette was with us for 2 hours as she filmed the children playing tennis and interviewed several of them.  Ms Brown and Mrs Hodgson were also interviewed, as the children delighted in playing the tennis game ‘Round The World’ in the background.

 

It was a great experience for all involved and it was wonderful to see the finished report which aired twice on South East Today on Friday 22nd October.  Thank you very much to Vanessa Webb for arranging for the BBC to visit our school.
