Deal Parochial are League Champions in Girls’ Football.
Yesterday, our Girls’ football team played Sandown. It was our fourth and final league match of this season. Having won our previous 3 matches (4-0 against St Mary’s, 1-0 against Kingsdown, and 9-0 against Warden House), we knew that another win would make us champions of our league.
I’m delighted to report that we won 9-1. It was a great team performance from everyone; the girls, as always, played with great commitment, team spirit and sportsmanship. Ella, our captain, scored another double hat trick, with Chanel and Erin also scoring. – I felt one of our goals was, in fact, a contender for goal of the season as it demonstrated both wonderful teamwork and technique; our goalie, Amelie, launched a fantastic drop kick up to Chanel in the opponent’s half, who then skillfully slid the ball through into the path of Ella, who scored.
Well done, everyone. Your enthusiasm and passion for playing football is a joy, and you fully deserve to be League Champions.
