Deal Parochial’s Girls’ Football Team Complete the League and Cup Double!

Having secured our place in the Hammond Cup Final with a 6-0 win over Whitfield in our semi-final, we played the Final last Thursday against St Richard’s from Dover.

In what proved to be a closely contested match, full of commitment and sportsmanship from both sides, Deal Parochial played excellently to win 4-0. It was a great team performance with goals from Zavanna (an amazing strike from inside Deal Parochial’s own half of the pitch), Molly and Willow. Additionally, whenever St Richard’s created dangerous chances, our strong defence, together with Emilie making some amazing saves, ensured we kept a clean sheet and also ensured that the momentum never shifted to St Richard’s.

The girls in our football team have been on an amazing journey this year and I am immensely proud of them; for the effort and commitment they have put into training over the season, in how they play the game, for how they support one another, as well as their sportsmanship and their never-ending enthusiasm for playing football.

Congratulations to you all, and thank you to all your families and friends for their wonderful support, no matter the weather, throughout the whole season.
