Boys McCarthy Cup

Results from the boys McCarthy cup tournament.

On a cold afternoon at Bettshanger football ground the boys and girl lined up to face Hornbeam primary a last second goal from Hugo clinched a 1-0 win before a narrow defeat to Kingsdown ensured second place in the group and a Semi Final spot against Sandown.

Both teams set up very well and tested each others resolve unfortunately the game ended in a draw and going to Penalties Sandown were victorious with a 3-2 win.

I’m very proud of the team today they all showed great team work, sportsmanship and togetherness throughout the afternoon well done.
