McCarthy Cup Tournaments for 2023

Our Girls’ and Boys’ football teams have both played in the McCarthy Cup Tournaments this month. Both teams played with great effort and commitment throughout in their respective round robin tournaments.

The girls’ team played at St Faith’s on 3rd October against some very strong teams.  They played four matches in total, and improved with every match, creating several goal scoring opportunities and working hard in defence.  This was a great learning experience for the girls that will help them in their league matches next term.  Well done, girls.

Deal Parochial then hosted the Deal area heats for the McCarthy Cup for boys’ teams on 17th October.  Like for the girls’ tournament earlier in the month, we had wonderful sunny weather.  Our boys played very well against several very strong sides, narrowly losing three of their matches and drawing their other two matches. They played with great team spirit and commitment throughout. Well done, boys.
