They learnt how water molecules hold tightly onto each other, so producing the water’s surface tension. They also saw the effects of washing-up liquid reducing the water’s surface tension; this was due to the washing-up liquid molecules getting in between the water molecules and disrupting them.
The children then had great fun blowing a variety of bubbles, achievable due to the washing-up liquid decreasing water’s surface tension.
