Northbourne Tournament at Northbourne Park School on Tuesday 12 October 2021
After 18 months of no competitive school football tournaments it was great to be back at Northbourne Park Schools annual competition with Deal Parochial taking part. We were pooled in a group which consisted of Cartwright and Kelsey, Kingsdown, Hornbeam, Northbourne and River Schools.
Each game was 8 minutes long. Our first match was against Cartwright and Kelsey, with six goals from Noah, a goal a piece from Artie, Jake and Liam and Deal Parochial cruised to a 9-0 win in their first game. Hornbeam was next with a stern test for both teams Hornbeam clinched a 1-0 win.
Games quickly followed against Kingsdown, River and Northbourne and Deal won all three with convincing wins of 3-0, 1-0 and 6-0 respectively with goals again coming from Noah, Jake, Tyler and Liam sending us through to the Semi Finals against Northbourne Park School.
Two halves of 7 minutes couldn’t separate both teams and it went to penalties, Northbourne eventually clinched the win with a 4-2 win on penalties. Every player supported each-other after being knocked out of the competition and showed tremendous team spirit, fair play and respect throughout the event. Really proud of them all.
